So it's been forever (in my mind at least) since I did a blog post and rounded up my thoughts, ideas, suggestions, the list always goes on (per usual). My goal for this year was to dedicate and set aside a chunk of time for this space but so far...it has not quite gone as planned. I promise to do better folks! Anywho...we recently (and slightly out of no planning or thought) adopted this little gal named Rosie. She is a rescue lab and long story short....our good friends were adopting her sister and I couldnt bare to see her taken back home with foster parents instead of what could be her forever home. So...went with my gut...filled out the papers...made the phone calls..and she became ours. We have for sure had our ups (constant cuddles/sweet puppy kisses/playful hearts) and downs (learning to potty train her outside/teaching to not chew mommys shoes/less whining). I think this is always the process we have had we each of our dogs. It is significantly rewarding adding a puppy to your life but comes with challenges and seems to teach everyone a lesson or two which we can always use to better ourselves. I will say..the 2 am outings I will be happy to say adios to!
If you have a toddler..these pictures may look similar to your own Target outings. Tatum is notorious for taking the small boxes (usually her food items) and shaking them, shouting to our fellow target shoppers what she has, and then tossing them to hear a clink clonk sound on the floor. This is all followed by giggles and a cheeky smirk which always somehow makes me less irritated than I might should be by the never ending sequence. We are sporting pigtails (both low and high) and really getting verbal (picking up just about everything she hears). Her manners are on point and you will always get a very sweet hello even if you could possibly be a criminal. I love the amount of life she brings to my days..almost like when you add that little orange slice on the tip of your mimosa glass...makes it..well it..ya know?
I never shared much or did a post on Valentine's Day mostly because I wanted to simply enjoy the day without bother of social media. Don't get me wrong, social media is amazing...but sometimes as much as my heart wants to document every little itty bitty occurance taking shape in my life.....I have to remind myself to really be in that moment (hands detatched from phone and all). You porbably did see, however, I chose an oldy but goody to show my man some social media love ;). I came home from a fun day with Tatum to my favorite wine, tickets to Mike Posner and these gorgeous pink/lilac roses. I am a flowers gal..so to say "babe you don't need to get me anything" is true to an extent except flowers are always a must!
For my birthday (back in December) my step-brothers wife made me this air plant. Let me preface this by saying she might be one of the most creative gift giver I have yet to meet. Her wrapping paper, wrapping skills, gifts, messages and even handmade cards are Etsy worthy (no joke). So when I opened this gift I was rather confused at first but compeltely smitten at the site. She basically went and got moss and some plants and this adorabel glass container (which can be hung or will sit on its own) and put together an air plant for me. All you do with these little fresh beauties is sprinkle some water on it like once a week..and voila! A nice effortless/refreshing piece of decor for any space of your home! Thanks Christin!!
